What We Collect
Email address — When you subscribe to ONDO Tokyo Weekly, we collect your email address. We use this only to send you our weekly newsletter and service announcements related to your subscription.
Site analytics data — We use Google Analytics 4 to track how visitors navigate The Ondo Tokyo. This includes your IP address, device type, pages visited, and how long you spend on each page. Google’s privacy policy applies to this data.
We do not collect:
- Payment information (you manage reservations directly with venues)
- Location data
- Cookies beyond what’s necessary for site function and analytics
- Personally identifiable information beyond your email address if you subscribe
How We Use Your Data
Newsletter subscribers: We use your email to send you ONDO Tokyo Weekly every Friday. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
Analytics: We review aggregate visitor data to understand which venues and areas generate the most interest. This helps us decide which new content to publish.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not share email addresses with venues, sponsors, or anyone else.
Google Analytics data is governed by Google’s terms. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Data Retention
We retain subscriber email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed. You can request deletion at any time by emailing info@theondo.net.
Analytics data is retained for 14 months according to Google Analytics defaults.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for communications
