Ebisu 恵比寿

Where Tokyo's beer history began — taproom heritage, neon-lit yokocho alleys, and Ebisu Garden Place's quiet weekend sophistication.

The Character of Ebisu

Ebisu was born from beer. The Yebisu Beer brewery (1890) was so famous the neighborhood took its name from the brand. Today the brewery is a museum and tasting room inside Ebisu Garden Place — a glass-and-stone shopping complex that feels distinctly different from neighboring Shibuya. East of the station, Ebisu Yokocho packs 19 izakaya stalls under a single low ceiling for the loudest drinking scene south of Shinjuku.
